Redact a PDF on Mac

Black out names, emails, phone and card numbers, removed for real and not just covered.

Runs on your Mac
A client note with a name, email, phone and card number
The same note with every personal detail blacked out

Three steps. That's it.

  1. 1

    Drop your files

Drag files onto Redact PDF, choose them with Choose Files, or right-click them in Finder.

  2. 2

    Choose the options

Set what you need in the options panel, such as words to redact. Your choices are remembered for next time.

  3. 3

    Get the result

The result lands in a new dated folder in Downloads › OneMacTools. Your originals are never changed.

What Redact PDF does

Choose words to hide, and switch on automatic detection of email addresses, phone numbers and card numbers (checked with the card-number checksum). Redacted pages are rebuilt with the boxes burned in, so the hidden text is gone from the file. Works on scanned PDFs too, using on-device text recognition.
