6 not planned
Requests we've considered and decided against, with the reason.
- Fan controlWriting fan speeds needs a privileged helper with access to the hardware. A monitor shouldn't take that risk; the Mac manages its fans well.
- A “Free up RAM” buttonIt empties a cache that refills in minutes and slows the Mac until it does. Mac Health shows what holds memory and lets you quit it, which is what actually helps.
- A battery charge limitermacOS has one built in (System Settings › Battery). Getting it wrong could leave a laptop uncharged before a trip.
- Memory per browser tabBrowsers don't tell macOS which process holds which tab, so any figure would be a guess.
- A subscriptionOneMacTools is paid once. Updates for version 1 are free.
- Uploading your filesEvery tool runs on your Mac. The only exceptions fetch the link you give them.
