# Watermark Images — Watermark photos with text or a logo on Mac

Add your name, © notice or logo to photos — in a corner or tiled across the whole image. Part of OneMacTools, 151 private tools in one native Mac app (macOS 26 or later); category: Images. Runs on your Mac; nothing is uploaded.

Add a text or logo watermark in any corner, along an edge, in the centre, or tiled diagonally across the whole photo so it can't be cropped out. Size, margin and opacity scale with each photo, so a batch of different sizes looks consistent. Use a PNG logo with transparency for a clean mark.

## How to use it
1. **Drop your photos.** For a text watermark, add the photos. For a logo watermark, add your logo first, then the photos. The first file is used as the logo.
2. **Choose text or logo.** Type your name or © notice and pick white or black, or choose Logo to use the first image you added.
3. **Place it.** Choose a corner, an edge, the centre, or Tiled to repeat it across the whole photo. Set the size, opacity and margin.
4. **Click Watermark.** Each photo is marked and saved with “watermarked” added to its name, in its original format.
5. **Check before sharing.** The copies are saved in a new dated folder in Downloads › OneMacTools. Use the Preview (eye) button to check the mark, or Show in Finder. Your originals stay unmarked.

## Options
- **Watermark:** Text, or Logo (the first image you add). For a logo, add it before the photos; it isn't watermarked itself.
- **Text:** Shown for a text watermark: what to write, such as © Your Name or SAMPLE.
- **Colour:** Shown for a text watermark: White or Black. White text gets a faint dark shadow and black text a faint light one, so it stays readable on busy photos.
- **Position:** Bottom right, Bottom left, Bottom centre, Top right, Top left, Top centre, Centre, or Tiled. Tiled repeats the mark diagonally across the whole image so it can't be cropped out.
- **Size:** From 2% to 40% of the photo's width, 4% by default. For text it sets the font size; for a logo it sets the logo's width. It scales with each photo, so mixed sizes look consistent.
- **Opacity:** From 10% to 100%, 70% by default. Lower it for a subtle mark that doesn't distract from the photo.
- **Margin:** From 0% to 15% of the photo's width, 3% by default. The gap between the mark and the edge for corner and edge positions.
- **Tile angle:** Shown for Tiled: from −90° to 90°, 30° by default.
- **Tile spacing:** Shown for Tiled: from 50% to 400%, 150% by default. The gap between repeated marks, relative to the mark's own size.
- **Watermark position (Where I drag it):** Shown when Position is Where I drag it. The watermark text or logo appears on the first photo in the window; drag it to the spot you want. The same position, as a proportion of each photo, is used for the whole batch.

## Tips
- Use a PNG logo with a transparent background. A JPEG logo brings its white or coloured box with it.
- To protect photos from reuse, choose Tiled at 20–40% opacity. A corner mark is easy to crop out.
- For portfolio photos, a small corner mark at 50–70% opacity looks professional without spoiling the picture.
- Pick white text for dark or busy photos and black for bright, plain backgrounds. Check a couple of results with the Preview button before sharing a whole batch.
- Keep your unmarked originals somewhere safe. A watermark can't be removed from the copies.

## Questions
**How do I watermark photos on a Mac?**
Drop the photos onto Watermark Images, type your text or add your logo first, choose the position and opacity, and click Watermark. Every photo in the batch is marked the same way.

**How do I add my logo as a watermark?**
Choose Logo (the first image you add), then add your logo before the photos. If the logo isn't first, OneMacTools will treat one of your photos as the logo.

**How do I stop people cropping out my watermark?**
Choose Tiled. The mark repeats diagonally across the whole photo, at the angle and spacing you choose, so there's no clean area to crop.

**What opacity should a watermark be?**
50–70% for a corner mark that's clearly visible, and 20–40% for a tiled mark that protects the photo without hiding it.

**Why does it say to type the watermark text?**
The Text box is empty. Type what you want to appear, such as © Your Name, then click Watermark again.

**Can I watermark photos of different sizes in one go?**
Yes. Size and margin are set as a percentage of each photo's width, so the mark looks the same on a small and a large photo.

**Can I put the watermark in an exact spot?**
Yes. Set Position to Where I drag it and drag the watermark on the photo in the window. Size and opacity update in the preview as you change them.
