## How to use it
1. **Drop your receipts.** Add photos, scans or PDF invoices, as many as you like, one receipt per file.
2. **Choose the format.** In the right-hand panel, set Save as to Excel (.xlsx) or CSV.
3. **Click Extract.** Each receipt is read with on-device text recognition that keeps labels and amounts on the same line. Apple Intelligence then picks out the date, vendor, category, tax, total and currency.
4. **See the totals.** The window shows how many receipts were read and the total for each currency. The spreadsheet, named Receipts, is saved in a new dated folder in Downloads › OneMacTools; open it with the Preview (eye) button or Show in Finder.
5. **Check before you submit.** Compare the rows with your receipts, especially totals and dates, before you send them to your accountant or expenses system.

## Options
- **Save as:** Excel (.xlsx), the default, or CSV. Excel keeps tax and totals as real numbers, ready to add up. CSV is plain text that accounting apps and spreadsheets can import, with amounts written to two decimal places.

## Tips
- Photograph receipts flat, in good light, with the whole receipt in the frame, including the total. Thermal paper fades, so scan receipts soon after you get them.
- Use one file per receipt. A multi-page PDF is treated as a single receipt, and only its first three pages are read.
- Check totals and tax against the paper before you claim them. A smudged digit or a subtotal in the wrong place can be misread.
- Receipts in different currencies get separate total rows. Amounts in different currencies are never added together.
- Each receipt gets a category, such as Food & Drink, Groceries, Travel, Transport, Utilities, Office, Health or Other. Change any that don't fit in the spreadsheet.
- Want tidy file names too? Run Smart Rename on the same receipts to name them by date and vendor.

## Questions
**How do I convert receipts to Excel on a Mac?**
Drop the receipt photos or PDFs onto Receipts to Spreadsheet, leave Save as on Excel (.xlsx) and click Extract. You get one spreadsheet with a row per receipt and a total for each currency.

**Which details does it pull out of each receipt?**
The date, vendor, category, tax (VAT or GST), total and currency, along with the name of the file it came from.

**How accurate are the totals?**
Clear receipts are usually read correctly, but faded print, a crease or an unusual layout can lead to a wrong figure. Check totals and tax against the receipts before you submit an expense claim or tax return.

**Does it handle receipts in different currencies?**
Yes. Each row has its currency code, such as EUR, GBP or INR, and the totals at the bottom are given separately for each currency.

**Can I import the CSV into my accounting software?**
Yes. Choose CSV to get a plain comma-separated file with a header row, which most accounting and spreadsheet apps can import.

**Can it read a PDF with several receipts in it?**
Each file is treated as one receipt. Split a PDF of several receipts into separate files with Split PDF first.

**Does it work with receipt photos from my iPhone?**
Yes. HEIC and JPEG photos both work. Keep the receipt flat and the whole of it in the frame, especially the total.
