## How to use it
1. **Install FFmpeg once.** The first time, OneMacTools offers to install FFmpeg through Homebrew with one click.
2. **Drop your clips.** Add two or more videos. They can have different sizes, shapes and frame rates.
3. **Put them in order.** The clips are joined in the order shown. Drag them in the list to reorder.
4. **Choose the size and shape.** Pick 1080p, 720p or 4K, and Landscape, Portrait or Square, in the right-hand panel.
5. **Click Merge.** The clips are joined into one MP4 called “Merged”, saved in a new dated folder in Downloads › OneMacTools. Play it with the Preview (eye) button or Show in Finder. The separate clips stay as they were.

## Options
- **Resolution:** 1080p (the default), 720p or 4K. Every clip is fitted into this size.
- **Shape:** Landscape (16:9, the default), Portrait (9:16) or Square (1:1). Clips that don't match the shape are fitted inside it with black bars, never stretched or cropped.

## Tips
- Pick the shape most of your clips already have. A portrait phone clip in a landscape merge gets wide black bars at the sides.
- Trim each clip first so the joined video doesn't have dead air between parts.
- Clips without sound are fine: silence is added for them so the audio stays in sync.
- Use 1080p unless every clip is 4K. Choosing 4K for phone clips only makes the file bigger.
- Run Compress to Size on the merged video if you need to email or post it under a limit.

## Questions
**How do I merge videos on a Mac?**
Drop two or more clips onto Merge Videos, drag them into order and click Merge. They're joined into one MP4.

**How do I change the order of the clips?**
Drag the clips up or down in the list before you click Merge. They're joined in the order shown.

**Can I join videos of different sizes or shapes?**
Yes. Each clip is fitted into the size and shape you choose, with black bars where it doesn't fill the frame. Nothing is stretched.

**What if one of my clips has no sound?**
That's fine. Silence is added for that clip, so the sound for the others stays in sync.

**Can I add transitions between clips?**
No. Clips are joined with straight cuts.

**Why do I see black bars in the merged video?**
A clip's shape doesn't match the Shape you chose, such as a portrait clip in a landscape video. Choose the shape most of your clips have, or crop clips first with Crop Video.
