## How to use it
1. **Drop your archives.** Drag in ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, TGZ, CPIO or ISO files. You can add a batch at once.
2. **Click Extract.** There's nothing to set. Each archive is unpacked using tools built into macOS.
3. **Find the contents.** Each archive gets its own folder, named after it, in a new dated folder in Downloads › OneMacTools. Use Show in Finder to open them. The archives themselves are kept.
4. **Tidy up.** Once you've checked the contents, you can delete the original archive files yourself if you don't need them.

## Options
- **No options:** Extract Archive has nothing to set. It recognises the archive type and unpacks each one into its own folder, so files from different archives never get mixed up.

## Tips
- Check what you downloaded before opening it. Archives from unknown senders can contain harmful files, like any download.
- If a site publishes a checksum for the download, check it with File Checksum before you extract.
- A .tar.gz or .tgz is unpacked in one step, straight to the files inside.
- Extracting a batch of ZIPs is quicker than double-clicking them one by one, and each lands in its own folder.
- Use Tidy a Folder afterwards if an archive unpacks into a jumble of loose files.

## Questions
**How do I open a RAR file on a Mac?**
Drop it onto Extract Archive and click Extract. The contents are saved in a folder named after the archive, with nothing extra to install.

**How do I open a 7Z file on a Mac?**
Drop the .7z file onto Extract Archive and click Extract. Its contents appear in their own folder in your OneMacTools folder.

**How do I extract a .tar.gz file?**
Drop it onto Extract Archive. The compression and the TAR are both unpacked in one step, so you get the files directly.

**Can I extract several archives at once?**
Yes. Drop them all in. Each archive is unpacked into a separate folder named after it.

**Can it open password-protected archives?**
No. Extract Archive doesn't ask for passwords, so encrypted ZIP, RAR and 7Z files need to be opened with the tool they were made with.

**Does it delete the archive after extracting?**
No. The archive stays where it was. Delete it yourself once you've checked the contents.
