## How to use it
1. **Install FFmpeg once.** If needed, OneMacTools offers to install FFmpeg through Homebrew with one click.
2. **Drop your videos.** Add the clips you want to reshape. Every one gets the same crop.
3. **Choose the shape.** Pick 1:1 Square, 9:16 Vertical, 4:5 Portrait, 16:9 Widescreen, 4:3 Classic or 21:9 Cinema in the right-hand panel.
4. **Click Crop.** The largest centred area with that shape is kept and the rest is trimmed away. Nothing is stretched.
5. **Check the framing.** The cropped copies, with the shape in the name, are saved in a new dated folder in Downloads › OneMacTools. Watch them with the Preview (eye) button or Show in Finder. The originals are unchanged.

## Options
- **Aspect ratio:** 1:1 Square, 9:16 Vertical, 4:5 Portrait, 16:9 Widescreen, 4:3 Classic or 21:9 Cinema. The crop is always centred and as large as the video allows.

## Tips
- Crop Video always keeps the centre. If the subject is off to one side, it may be cut off; check the result before posting.
- Turning a landscape video vertical with 9:16 keeps only a narrow strip of the middle. If you'd rather keep the whole picture, use Social Video Presets with a blurred background.
- Use 4:5 Portrait for Instagram feed posts. It fills more of the screen than a square.
- To remove black bars around a recording, choose the shape of the picture inside the bars, such as 16:9 or 21:9.
- The sound is copied as it is, so cropping never affects the audio.

## Questions
**How do I crop a video on a Mac?**
Drop it onto Crop Video, pick a shape such as 1:1 Square or 9:16 Vertical, and click Crop. The largest centred area of that shape is kept.

**How do I make a video square for Instagram?**
Choose 1:1 Square, or 4:5 Portrait for a taller feed post, and click Crop.

**How do I turn a landscape video into a vertical one?**
Choose 9:16 Vertical to cut a centred vertical strip out of it. To keep the whole picture instead, use Social Video Presets, which adds a blurred background.

**Can I choose which part of the video to keep?**
No. Crop Video always keeps the centre of the frame, which suits most clips where the subject is in the middle.

**Does cropping stretch the video?**
No. The picture is cut to the new shape, never squeezed or stretched.

**Will the sound change?**
No. The audio is copied across unchanged, except for WebM files, where it's re-encoded to suit the format.
