# How to compress a video for email on a Mac

Use a tool that compresses to a target size rather than a quality slider. OneMacTools' Compress Video to Size takes the limit (like 25 MB for email) and works out the settings, keeping the video as sharp as that size allows.

## Steps
1. Open OneMacTools › Compress Video to Size (or right-click the video in Finder › Quick Actions › OMT: Compress Video to 25 MB).
2. Choose the target: 25 MB for email, or the limit of the app you're sending to.
3. Click Compress. The result lands in Downloads › OneMacTools.

## If it's still too big
Long videos can't look good at 25 MB. Trim the part you need first, lower the resolution to 720p, or share a link instead.

## Questions
**What's the attachment limit for Gmail and Outlook?**
About 25 MB for Gmail and 20–25 MB for Outlook, including the email itself, so aim a little under.

**Does compressing reduce quality?**
Some, because the file has to be smaller. Compressing to a size spends that size as well as possible.
